Founded in 2021, SMM Insurance is one of the multiple companies under the Sigma Markets Management (SMM) Group umbrella. Along with the other companies in the group, we aim to be a one-stop-shop for a Canadian's Needs. Along with the daily hustle and bustle of life, the most important transactions in life sometimes need hand-holding. Our team of experts are ready to assist you with things Canadian. Mary Jo (MJ) has always had the passion to help others since she was young. A Practicing Registered Nurse in multiple countries, her calling has always been assisting people who are in need. Particularly in Insurance, MJ sees fit the need to educate the masses about how Insurance works and to aid in debunking the misconceptions most people have about Insurance.

With a combined 15+ years of experience in Insurance, Reinsurance and as a Registered Nurse - her unique skill set is a huge asset in one of her chosen careers as a Licensed Insurance Broker. From reviewing insurance contracts, understanding how underwriting works to policy-based claims reviews, MJ has seen the industry inside and out.

MJ is a strong proponent of acquiring insurance solutions on a Need basis. She always looks to what a person needs vis-a-vis their level of affordability. She believes that having that confidence on your financial security always starts with a Life Insurance protection - then everything else can and will follow.

As Co-Founder, his focus is on creating meaningful connections with clients and ensuring that every insurance solution provided truly supports their long-term financial well-being.

With combined experience in finance, mortgage, and insurance services, Matthew has developed a deep understanding of how proper financial planning can transform lives. His mission is to simplify the often-complex world of insurance and empower individuals and families to make informed, confident decisions about their protection and future security.

Matthew believes that trust and transparency are the foundation of every client relationship. Through SMM Insurance, he continues to champion education-first approaches—helping Canadians understand not just what coverage they need, but why it matters for their unique circumstances.
